An analysis of police call and usage data shows that call volume to law enforcement services from apartment properties is higher than other areas. We determined that an $18.50 per month (per unit) fee would best reflect the police usage volume of apartments. After further review of information provided during the public comment period, the SLVLESA lowered the amount to $15.50 per month despite the higher calculation.

Apartment owners will receive three bills in 2011 (January, April, and July) that are payable within 30 days. After 30 days, we will assess a 10% late payment penalty. In an attempt to hold down the fee for all, there is no discount for prepayment or early payment.
